Therapy requires curiosity, the willingness to sometimes tolerate uncomfortable feelings, and a strong desire to change. Therapy offers the possibility of lasting transformations– in behavior, work, relationships, and sense of self.
Starting therapy can be very challenging. People sometimes feel embarrassed or uncomfortable seeking help, may be nervous or fearful of the unknown, or unclear that psychodynamic therapy is the best choice of treatment.
I recommend one to three meetings to evaluate if psychodynamic therapy seems like it will be a useful mode of treatment and if we are a good fit to work together.
If we decide to embark on a course of treatment we will find a regular appointment time each week.
If psychodynamic therapy does not feel right or if we do not ‘click’ I will do my best to give you useful referrals to other providers.
